The $200 Bankroll Experiment

blog-jeremyFirst of all, what a WSOP final table! I tried to stay up for the whole thing but fell asleep at 4am. My man Cada is still in it and is going to take Darvin out on Monday. But I’ll blog about that on Monday or Tuesday.

What I really want to talk about is that I am going to start playing poker on Monday Nov.9/09. Full time. As I have enough money to live for 6 months. I will have $200 dollars to invest in poker every month set aside. I am going to invest my first $200 straight into a poker room, and go from there.

I am going to blog about this journey the whole way, as I have purchased Pokertracker 3 and will be posting graphs and such as, how a micro-grinder should play and when to move up limits. I have also purchased a desktop recorder so I can record my play and show you guys some videos on my play and how you should be playing these limits. Only thing left to purchase is a mic which I will grab tomorrow.

I really cant wait to do this, as I played SNG professionally for 1.5 Months and made a good profit off these (but was distracted by life problems and had to quit). But I wont be playing them this time. Here are some of my plans I have made to start this experiment.

$200 bankroll – which will give me 40 BI @ .2c-.5c level.

I will use the Chris Ferguson’s bankroll management strategy, when he turned 0$ into $20,000, which is only risking 5% of your bankroll on cash games and 2% on MTT.

Iam going to be buying-in for full stack every time. I thought about short-stacking, but it will be too robotic and, I wont experience what I want to. Which is getting better and teaching you guys how to play better. I will move up every 30BI and drop down @ 25BI. Also I will be playing 6-max-4 tabling, and 1 table  sometimes. I decided 6max because the play is looser and more fish there and of course more hands an hour. The only thing I wont be able to get is the Full Tilt Poker 600% bonus as  I am  using a name that has been already made and signed up for the bonus.

Here are my goals for the first month:

  • To have a bankroll of $1000 minimum
  • To be playing .10c-.25c
  • To blog every 3 days or so on my progress.
  • And to make a video per week for everyone.

Not very many goals for the first month, but I will just be building and getting in the flow of things again. The second month goals are gonna be worse, because that’s when I’ll start to withdraw funds, and be playing higher limits, where the thinking part of the game starts to come in a bit more:) See you on the felt.
