Flop ($0.93, 3 players)Hero checks, PocketRocket4 bets $2.64, HERO ?

I really thought he’s able to do that with A3/A2 (probably A of spades, but maybe even without a spade), and then… Any Jack (no matter spades), any pocket pair with a spade.
I also thought there’s no way he has a flush because of this ridiculous bet.
I had $2 to call for $3 already in the pot. Blah… Mistake?

you could c-bet on the flop! lol
considering pot odds, you have to fold
is pocketrocket4 a very loose player?! cause i wouldnt call a 3x bet over a raise x5 holding A2, A3 if im not a loose player lol
i think he’s strong… maybe AJ with A of spades
so…ill fold, maybe making a mistake
I assume Exip folded? I think it is a pretty easy fold here. I probably would have c-bet that flop but maybe you saved yourself some money by not c-betting and folding (assuming you folded). He is so loose he can show up with anything (including a flush I think).
Either way I hope you folded.

I am trying to find a good reason to call there and I cant.
Lets say you can win this hand with an A, a Q or a spade.
Your outs are: 3xQ + 3xA + 8xSpades= 14
That means your % to win the hand (I will use this type of numbers) is
14/47 + 14/46 = 0.297 + 0.304 = 0.601 or 60%
So if you play the same hand 100 times you will have a profit/loss
60*3 – 40*2 = 180 – 80 = +EV!
Now we have 2 problems…
1) To exploit the value of this hand you have to play it a lot of times (you can flip a coin 4 times and get 4 times head…. you cannot flip it 400 times with the same result. So we need a lot of times to get our value). The problem is that you need a huge bankroll to chase the value in situations like that.
If you play the same hand 3 times it is 0.60*0.60*0.60= 0.20 or 20% to win 3 times in a row. So… you will lose some buy-ins and then try to get them back (with 10% profit) and you are in trouble until you see the “real” profit.
2) That happens in an ideal word. Something we didn’t count…
What if the other player has a As or Ks? You are drawing dead!
What if he has AJ and he has hit his TopPairTopKicker? You have no Aces now…
So you are not favorite now!
IMO the reraise with AQo was a waste of chips. Better to call the raise and see the Flop first. AQo is simply Ace high unless it hits on the Flop. Checking on the Flop was also a mistake. It simply invites your opponent to bet Pot and steal the money whatever they are holding. Perhaps a 1/3rd bet here would let you see the Turn card fairly cheaply. Unless he is a very poor player, he hasn’t flopped a Flush, so you can put him all in if an Ace or Queen comes
Your probably up against an Ace of spades or a Jack with that size bet into a $0.93 pot. He is either trying to flush you off chasing the flush or he is just looking to take down the pot right away with his own flush draw. Either way you checking allowed him to make this play.
he could have anyhing, but odds are you are beat or you will be beat. my guess would be a weak flush like 9 10s or a set of 4s or 5s. He does not want anyone to see the next card obviously. I would have to see how he has been playing before this hand but this is my first instinct.
